Engineering students, lawyers extend support to fight for Special Category Status
Chirala: YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy concluded his Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Prakasam district on Sunday and will enter Guntur district on Monday morning.
On the 109th day of his Padayatra, Jaganmohan Reddy covered Kothapet, Andhra Kesari Junior College, Balaji Theater, ITC and Adinarayanapuram in Chirala and reached Eepurupalem, the village located on the border of Prakasam and Guntur districts.
He covered a total of 10.2 km on the concluding day of his Yatra in Prakasam district. He walked a total of 271.8 km during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra in the district.
He covered nine of the 12 Assembly constituencies in the district and 124 villages in 19 mandals. Jagan addressed 8 public meetings in Prakasam. During his Padayatra in the Chirala, Jaganmohan Reddy received complaints from the locals over lack of infrastructure facilities. Engineering students and lawyers met Jaganmohan Reddy extended their support to the fight for the Special Category Status (SCS).
The lawyers sought rise in assistance provided to the kin in case a lawyer dies in accident from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. During their interaction with Jaganmohan Reddy, the weavers explained their plight and the problems they were facing.
On Monday, Jaganmohan Reddy will enter Stuartpuram and cover Bethapudi, Vedullapalli, Vaddepalem, Mahatmaji Puram and reach Bapatla to speak at a public meeting before concluding the yatra for the day.
