Minsters distribute 5 lakh ex-gratia to kin
Guntur: Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana, Minister for Civil Supplies Prattipati Pulla Rao and Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Anand Babu consoled the kin of those who died of diarrhoea in Guntur city on Thursday.
They distributed Rs 5 lakhs ex-gratia to their families sanctioned. They assured that they will give insurance under the Chandranna Bhima scheme to the eligible and said that the government will extend helping hand to them.
Speaking to the locals, Minister P Narayana said taking diarrhoea into consideration, the government directed to shift the patients whose condition is serious to the corporate hospitals. He said the government will bear their hospital bills. He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu enquired about diarrhoea patients’ condition and giving necessary instructions.
Minister for Civil Supplies Prattipati Pulla Rao said the government will extend helping hand to the kin of deceased. The officials explained about steps taken to control diarrhoea in the city and removal of drinking water pipelines from the drains. Director of Municipal Administration Kanna Babu, District Collector Kona Sasidhar were also present.
