New GMC Commissioner takes charge

Guntur: Srikesh B Lathkar took charge as new Guntur Municipal Commissiner. Speaking to the media here on Thursday, he said that they are collecting drinking water samples from  the houses  in the Old  City.

Earlier, Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana said that they will replace old pipelines  in the city by March end. P Narayana, along  with Minister for Civil Supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao,  inspected the pipeline  shifting   works at Anandapeta in  the city on Thursday. 

Speaking on the occasion, he said that diarrhoea cases are on the wane and situation is under control. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is reviewing the situation every day, he said. He further stated that they have taken steps to improve sanitation in the city.
