Minor boys meet watery grave

Vijayawada: Two minors aged 8 and 10 years were found dead in a pond at PT Kothuru and Tiruvuru on Friday. Veeranki Lokesh (8) and Nellore Chakravarthy (10) came from the school in the afternoon and were playing near a pond around 2 pm.

Suddenly, they went missing. Worried parents started searching nearby places and noticed slippers near the pond. Later, swimmers fished out the bodies from the pond.

Sub- Inspector D Venkata Kumar said that the pond was full of water and the boys might have slipped into it accidentally while playing and drowned. A case was registered.
