Chandrababu Naidu to open Vizag Yachting Fest today
Visakhapatnam: Due to technical reasons and delay in arrival of yachts, Vizag Yachting Festival was deferred to March 29. The Visakhapatnam Port Trust, district administration, police and CISF made arrangements for the Vizag Yachting Festival, which is supposed to start on Wednesday.
The Andhra Pradesh Tourism is organising the festival and planned for four days from March 28 to 31. The organisers announced on Tuesday that the festival would be continued till April 1 with formal inauguration on Wednesday.
However, till night, only one yacht arrived to the Port City. The yacht was lifted on the blue waters with the support of a heavy crane at about 7 pm in the night. The organisers said that the other seven yachts will arrive in the city by Thursday and festival will be inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the afternoon on the same day.
The yachts would sail through popular beaches like Rushikonda, RK Beach, Tothlakonda and Yarada Beach while engaging the on-board guests with activities including swimming, fishing, snorkeling. The fleet would sail on the waters of Bay of Bengal during the day and park at The Fishing Harbour in the evening for customised galas with musical performances.
