Chittoor: Joint Collector (JC) Girisha expressed anger over the district officials for not clearing people’s grievances received in Meekosam, the weekly grievance meeting. The JC accepted petitions from the petitioners at the Collectorate here on Monday, as District Collector P S Pradyumna went on leave. He reviewed the progress of pending grievances with the departmental heads.

Ravamani and Renuka, the daughters of veteran freedom fighter E A Arunachalam, have submitted a representation to the JC urging him to sanction white ration card. A farmer Venkatachala Naidu made an appeal to Girisha to resume the production of the Chittoor Cooperative Dairy for protecting the interests of the farmers. Speaking to The Hans India, the JC stated firm instructions were given to all the departmental heads not to keep grievances in pending.

“More than 2,400 grievances are still pending with several departments. Chief Minister is periodically monitoring the status of Meekosam programme and has been instructing higher officials to resolve all the pending grievances,” he added. Petitioners across the district have flooded the Collectorate to submit their petitions.
