Municipal bill collector in ACB net

Kurnool: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths have trapped a bill collector of Kurnool Municipal Corporation while accepting a bribe of Rs.5000 for sanctioning a tap connection.

ACB DSP T Jaya Rama Raju has said that the bill collector S Sudhakar is working at Revenue Section in Kurnool Municipal Corporation. He had reportedly demanded Rs5,000 for giving tap connection to Sri Sai Vidya Niketan situated near Ayyyappa Swamy temple in the city. 

One Ravikumar approached the bill collector on behalf of the school correspondent B Nageshwari alias B Naga Lakshmi Devi. As the bill collector S Sudhakar demanded the bribe, Ravikumar approached the ACB officials. 

``Based on the complaint, we laid a trap and arrested the bill collector while accepting the bribe amount near Sri Rama Theatre in Kurnool city. We have seized the amount from his possession,’’ said the officer. We have filed a case against him and he would be produced in the ACB court on Wednesday, added the ACB DSP.
