Sri Venkateswara University delays release of semester results

Update: 2018-04-25 11:14 IST

Tirupati: Thousands of postgraduate and graduate students of the Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) and its affiliated colleges, who have written semester exams, are desperately waiting for the results.

The SVU’s exam department yet to release the semester results even after 8 months. Varsity’s Vice-Chancellor and Rector did nothing to sort out the issue. In October 2017, the SVU had conducted the 2,4 and 5th semester exams of LLB and few semester exams of B Tech dual degree.

The delay attributed to lack of coordination between the varsity departments. It is learnt that examiners are not come forward to evaluate the answer scripts. However, law exam papers have been evaluated by the outside law faculty, but results are yet to be released by the authorities.

The printing of the marks list was entrusted to a private IT firm. The varsity officials and IT firm representatives are blaming each other for the last one year over the technical errors in exam department.

The SVU is spending more than Rs 80 lakh funds for the release of results and issuing of marks lists. Meanwhile, the varsity officials have decided to conduct 6th and 10th semester exams from May 3 without releasing the previous semester results.

Speaking to The Hans India, SVU Controller of Examinations Sudhakar said that release of semester exam results is getting delayed due to technical errors and assured of releasing results at the earliest. The varsity sources said that the SVU wants to terminate contract with the IT firm and take over IT related works.
