40,000 cr spent on welfare of poor in four years: Nakka

Guntur: Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Anand Babu said that the state government had spent Rs 40,000 crore for the welfare of weaker sections in four years and Rs 10,000 crore would be spent this year. He distributed tools under Adarana-II to the BCs at the NTR Municipal Corporation Stadium here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the state government prepared BCs sub-plan with Rs 10,000 crore during the current financial year. He urged the BCs to avail the benefits of Adarana -II. Collector Kona Sasidhar said that the government is planning minimum Rs 10,000 income per month to every family.

He said that the government is giving subsidy up to 90 per cent under the Adarana-II scheme and urged the eligible to avail the facility provided by the government. He said that the state government sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the construction of BC Bhavan in Guntur city.MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy presided over the programme. Differently Abled Association president G Koteswara Rao was also present.
