The theme for this year's Malaria Day is 'Ready to beat malaria’ and malaria can be prevented with the support of public, Vasundra added.

Assistant director (malaria department) of GVMC said that they identified a few places in Visakhapatnam rural areas  in which many malaria cases were registered among the tribals.  The malaria wing  distributed over 4.85 lakh mosquito nets in the district. As a part of the malaria prevention programme, they also sprayed mosquito prevention medicine in 2,743 tribal areas and 181 plain areas.
