Collector enquires water supply in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: District collector B Lakshmikantham and Joint Collector Vijay Krishnan made a whirlwind tour in the 26th division in Kummaripalem centre as part of Grama Darsini programme in the city on Thursday and interacted with the local residents. He enquired about the quality of drinking water being supplied by the VMC and sanitation conditions in the colonies. 

He inspected an Anganwadi centre and asked the staff to shift the centre to other location because of poor facilities in the existing centre. Speaking to local residents, the collector said the government was trying to check malnutrition problem among pregnant woman, lactating mothers and girls, who are suffering from anemia. 

He said the per capita income of the people of Krishna district increased during the last two years and reached to Rs 2 lakh. The collector is conducting bus tours with the officials as part of Grama Darsini programme and interacting with the local people.

Later, the collector has visited Paritala village of Kanchikacharla mandal and Ponnavaram village of Veerulapdu mandal as part of the Grama Darsini.
