Update: 2018-05-02 06:05 IST

Vijayawada: YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that his party would not have poll alliance with any political party in the next elections.

Addressing a public meeting at Koneru Centre in Machilipatnam town on Tuesday, he said that he would extend support to the political party at the Centre which gives Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh.

He asked the public not to believe the ongoing campaign against the YSR Congress over election tie-up. He said that all the political parties cheated the people of the State.

The Opposition leader requested the people to extend support to his party to win all the 25 MP seats in the State. The YSR Congress would achieve the Special Category Status to AP, he added.

All the 1.5 lakh vacancies would be filled through Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), he said and added that ration cards, pensions and Arogysri grievances would be solved in 72 hours, if he is voted to power in the next elections.

He said that he would do justice to public without discrimination like caste, region, and religion. Giving assurance to the local public, he said that the Machilipatnam port would be constructed and employment opportunities would be given to only local people. He said that he would pass a bill in the Assembly in this regard, if he comes to power.

YS Jagan said that the port would be constructed only in 4,800 acres against the present government's land acquisition plans. He said the poorer sections were migrating from Machilipatnam town to some other areas due to unemployment.

He alleged that the Telugu Desam government encouraged belt shops, which was against its election promise. The law and order situation was in the worst condition in the State, he said and added that relatives of N T Rama Rao were also being harassed by the TDP leaders.

Telugu Desam leaders and MLAs were involved in land grabbing and illegal sand mining, he said. YSR Congress leaders Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Perni Venkata Ramaiah (Nani) and several other leaders were present.
