Cop’s role crucial in society: Minister

Kadapa: Marketing Minister C Adinarayana Reddy made an appeal to the cops to discharge their responsibilities in a transparent manner in safeguarding the society.

Participating as a chief guest in the passing out parade of the 226 stipendiary cadet trainee constables (communications) at District Police Training Centre (DTC) here on Friday, the Minister said the government is giving top priority to the communications in the Police department to alert police personnel with minute-to-minute updates related to crime in the society.

The DTC was established on March 1, 2004 for providing training to the trainee constables from Nellore, Prakasam, Tirupati, Kadapa, Kurnool, Vijayawada, Krishna and Guntur districts. He lauded the selection of 93 women for the training witnessing their major role in the Police department.

For the uplift of socio and economic conditions of women in the state, District Collector T Baburao Naidu has said that the role of women in government departments has become important following the initiative taken by the Chief Minister. He said Kadapa women are playing vital role in various government programmes being implemented by the district administration.

District Superintendent of Police Attada Babujee said 133 men and 93 women trainees, who have completed the training. Among them are 176 engineering graduates, 17 graduates, and 33 are from other professions. 

The SP stated they were trained in swimming, driving, hand writing, English grammar etc for 9 months in the DTC. He explained it will be difficult even imagine without police in the society as their role has become more crucial in the present days.

He said communications is like backbone for the Police department in preventing the crimes. On the occasion, the Minister has distributed mementos to cops, who showcased talent during the training period. DTC Principal Srinivasa Reddy, Vice-Principal Venkateswara Rao and others were present.
