281 sexual harassment cases filed during last four years: Jagan

Vijayawada: YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy continued his scathing attack on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that he would have got best Villain character, if he joins in film field.  

Says women are afraid to come out of their houses as the government has failed to act against the accused

In his 153th day of Praja Sankalpa Yatra at Pedana in Krishna district on Saturday, Jaganmohan Reddy said the Chief Minister had been ruling the state for the last four years indulging in corruption, illegal activities and cheating the people.

The Ministers and the MLAs were harassing the women on flimsy reasons, he said and added reports also confirmed the undemocratic attitude of legislators. Nearly 281 sexual harassment cases were registered in the last four years, the YSRCP chief said.
 
Jagan said the women were afraid to come out of their houses as the government failed to act against the accused. He recalled the government did not take action against the persons involved in the attacks against MRO Vanajakshi and Riteshwari and added the TDP leaders were harassing public in the name of Janmabhoomi committees. 
 
He also said the government failed to supply drinking water in the current summer season and the people of Pedana had to buy drinking water from private parties.

Ex-MLA joins YSRCP: Former MLA and TDP leader Kannababu Raju and his son Sukumar joined YSR Congress on Saturday. They met YSRCP chief at Pedana in Krishna district, Jaganmohan Reddy presented party shawls and welcomed them into party.

On the occasion, Kannababu Raju said the Special Category Status would become a reality with the leadership of Jagan only.  Former MLA Perni Nani and several leaders were also present.
