Amaravati: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu will constitute 14 separate committees for organising the Mahanadu (TDP plenary meeting) in Vijayawada from May 27 to 29.

The committees include Invitations Committee, Members enrolment committee, Mahanadu meeting arrangements committee, city beautification committee, media relations committee, transportation and parking committee, financial resources mobilisation committee, cultural programmes committee and others.

Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao and L Ramana, the TDP presidents of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana respectively held a review meeting on the Mahanadu arrangements and constitution of committees on Monday at the Chief Minister’s residence at Undavalli.

Leaders from both the States participated and were directed to be ready to engage in the Mahanadu works as and when Chandrababu Naidu will give a call. The leaders were directed to ensure that those who attend the meeting should not suffer due to either sudden rains or severe heat.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu will organise teleconferences with members of all the committees regularly, till the completion of the Mahanadu programme.

As this is going to be the last big programme of the party before the general elections next year, the party high command has taken it very seriously to showcase the strength to the opposition parties in the State.

The place for organising the Mahanadu will be finalised on Wednesday after the visit of party senior leaders. So far, they have identified Siddartha Engineering College grounds at Kanur in Vijayawada as a suitable place, along with other options.

The first meeting with the Mahanadu committees will be organised on May 18 and before that the committees will be constituted. Party leaders were also directed to prepare the agenda for the meeting along with the resolutions, inspiring songs and other materials.

The party will mainly focus on the failure of the Central government in fulfilling the 2014 poll promises and the inefficiency of opposition YSRCP in fighting against the BJP government in demanding Special Category Status to AP.
