Discussions on Ahuda action plan in progress
Anantapur: One year after the issuing of a GO creating Anantapur-Hindupur Urban Development Authority (AHUDA), the Town and Country Planning authorities are working with a state government committee to make the urban development authority a reality.
The state government had approved creation of AHUDA way back in March last year for facilitating the overall development of the district on the industrial and urbanisation front and development of sub-urban infrastructure. A committee constituted by the state government with former bureaucrats of Town Planning prepared a master plan for implementation.
Under the master plan, the district would be divided into multiple zones including industrial, business, residential and non-residential zones. Under the zones, sports, tourism, spacious roads, botanical gardens, archeology and forest areas would be developed, says sources.
Besides airports facility will form part of the master plan. AHUDA vice-chairman Murthy told 'The Hans India' that several companies have participated in the bidding of tenders including R V Associates, Lee Associates, L&T Company, Feed Back Associate and IBI Associates have participated in the tenders for execution of works under the master plan.
Financial bids will be finalised after studying the tenders received. The bidders will be asked to give power point presentation to the committee. Finally, the lowest quoted tender will be considered for finalisation of the bid. The State and Central governments will be awarding Rs.100 crores to AHUDA for development of multiple zones in the urban development authority limits.
The master plan purview would include Anantapur rural, Hindupur rural, Bukkarayasamudram, Battalapalle, Chennekothalapalle, Penukonda, Lepakshi, Chilamatturu, Somandepalle, Gorantla, Raptadu, Kanaganapalle, Garladinne, Singanamala, Puttaparthi rural and Kothacheruvu areas.
