Srikakulam: Special chief secretary for finance department M Ravichandra on Saturday lauded the officials for conducting a programme on rectifying mistakes in revenue records regarding lands belonging to farmers and people in Srikakulam district.

Special chief secretary says accurate revenue records will reduce disputes relating to lands between farmers and they can avail bank loans and government subsidies for crops without any trouble

Participating in E-pattadar pass books distribution and correction of revenue records at Sairigam and Mohiddinpuram in Jalumurur mandal, he lauded the services and innovative ideas of joint collector KVN Chakradhara Babu to resolve issues relating to farmers and poor people.

Accurate revenue records will reduce disputes relating to lands between farmers and they can avail bank loans and government subsidies for crops without any trouble, he said and added rectifying land records in 78 villages in two phases is a good programme.

He lauded novel programmes like ‘Illaliki intipatta-Yajamaniki Bhoopatta’ and ‘Rythu Sevalo revenue saka’ for permanent settlement of land records to avoid legal disputes and to save precious time of farmers and courts.

Joint collector KVN Chakradhara Babu said there was no integrated survey in the district on lands after 1956 which was main reason for mistakes in records. “To clear it, we started novel activities and as part of it, we received petitions regarding 2.50 lakh land khatas out of total 6.55 lakh land khatas,” he said.

Every farmer should have pattadar passbook, 1B RoR, Adangal, land tax payment receipts and field measurement book (FMB) sketches relating to their lands to avoid disputes, he said. In Mohiddinpuram village, 73 survey numbers and 450 sub-divisions were in existence before correction of records and after 232 sub-divisions added to avoid confusion.

Narasannapeta MLA B Ramanamurthy, assistant director for survey department DBDB Kumar, Tekkali RDO M Venkateswara Rao and Jalumuru tahasildar K Pravallika Priya attended the programme.
