CISF constable throttles pregnant wife, surrenders
Kurnool: A constable throttled his pregnant wife to death on Tuesday at Yerraguduru village under Pamulapadu police station limits in Atmakur constituency. After the incident, the constable surrendered himself before Atmakur police who registered a case and took up investigation.
According to Circle Inspector of Atmakur police station B Krishnaiah, the accused is identified as Venkateshwarulu Naik, a resident of Yerraguduru who got married to Vijayalakshmi Bai (25) of Bugganapalle village in Bethamcherla mandal five years ago.
Out of their wedlock, the couple was bestowed with three girl children and the woman was known to be carrying 5-months pregnancy. Unhappy with three girl children, the accused has been harassing the woman and he has extra marital affair with other woman.
Unable to bear the torments, the family members of Vijayalakshmi Bai have filed harassment case against Venkateswarlu Naik which is pending at Bethamcherla police station.
In the meantime, the accused, working as constable in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) placed in Kerala has come to Yerraguduru on vacation three day ago.
On Tuesday morning a heated argument took place between the couple on girl children issue. Venkateshwarulu Naik, in a fit of rage, throttled Vijayalakshmi Bai Naik. She died immediately. After the incident, he came to Atmakur police station and surrendered himself.
``We have filed a case of murder basing on the complaint lodged by the family members of the deceased. The body was shifted for autopsy. The accused was arrested and he would be produced before court, stated the CI, B Krishnaiah.
