25 held for cricket betting; 5.51 lakh seized

Guntur: Rural Superintendent of Police arrested 25 persons in connection with the cricket betting in Tenali town on Thursday and recovered cash of Rs 5.51 lakh cash, 14 keypad phones, 18 smart phones, one TV, a laptop, a delink modem, Airtel set up box and 950 grams of ganja.

According to Guntur Rural SP Ch Venkata Appala Swamy, based on the information the police arrested the main accused, Gunti Venkat.
 
The arrested include China Sambasiva Rao, Kanaparthi Raju, Parikam Manikrishna, Kallem Venkata Reddy, Polisetty Ramu, Pathansiraj Khan, Narella Gopala Naga Sai, Kovekar Narendra, Sk Mahaboob, Sk Khadir, Madiredddy Srinivasa Reddy, Vakkalagadda Srinivasa Rao, Chiakurthy Sasikanth, Sk Khaja, Gali Sudhakar Rao, Yeragalla Pothuraju, Y Peraraju, Panchmarthy Srinivasa Rao, V Sambasiva Rao, S Siva Prasad, Bethapudi Chintaiah, A Venkata Ramana, G Sunil and Naga Venkat Satvik.

Tenali One-Town Circle Inspector M Srinivasa Rao arrested the accused. 

Meanwhile, the Guntur Urban Police arrested four persons involved in the cricket betting at Sangadigunta on Wednesday and recovered Rs 28,335 in cash and five cell phones from their possession. 

The arrested include Kunchala Anil, Vemula Siva, Tammisetty Venkat and Marella Sambasiva Rao. Based on the information, the Lalapet police arrested them.
