13 held for gambling, `2 lakh seized

Guntur: Urban police conducted raids on the office of Srinivasa Chits and Finance Company owned by Pasupuleti Sambasiva Rao, Arundalpet and arrested 13 persons playing cards and recovered Rs 2.02 lakh cash and 14 cell phone sets from their possession here on Wednesday.

They arrested Sadineni Praveen Kumar (37), Vuyyuru Venu, Potti Koteswara Rao, Alapati Murali, Jasti Virendrababu, Katari Venkateswarulu, Kudaravalli Pitchaiah, K Koteswara Rao, K Pichaiah, P Ramesh, P Venkateswara Rao, S Gafar, Cherakupalli Sudhakar and booked gambling cases against them.

DSP KGV Sarita led the raids.

Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police Ch Vijaya Rao appreciated the police officials and staff who participated in the raids.
