Clear silt to ensure free flow in drains, officials told

 Rajamahendravaram: Municipal Corporation (RMC) Commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi has directed the officials to clear silt in the drains before June 5, as the rainy season is fast approaching.

He inspected the silt clearance works at VL Puram, Satyanarayanapuram, Krishna Nagar, Nalla Channel and SPT along with officials.

Later, he asked the officials to speed up the silt clearance work otherwise the drain water would flow on the roads during rainy season. 

JCB was pressed into service to speed up the work. Many people have been complaining about possibility of drain water flowing on the roads during rainy season, he said.

Any lapses in clearing the silt would be viewed seriously, he warned.

Superintending Engineer Om Prakash, Additional Commissioner NVV Satyanarayana Rao and other officials were present.
