 What is section 30 of the police act?

It states that action will be taken against any organisation if they take out rallies without prior permission from the City Police.

Guntur: Urban district police imposed Section 30 of Police Act for one month from tomorrow.

Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police Ch Vijaya Rao issued orders to this effect and directed not to conduct processions, dharnas, rallis and public meetings without taking prior permission from the police officials.

He warned that they will take stern action against those who violate the Section 30 of the Police Act. 

They will book cases against those who violate the Section 30 of the Police Act and added that he has set up special teams to step up vigilance. 

He urged the leaders of the various associations not to conduct any meeting and processions and extend cooperation to implement the Section 30 of the Police Act till July 2.

The SP informed that following Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s public meeting at Bible Mission Grounds on June 2, the traffic on NH 5 has been directed from 5 pm on Friday to 12 noon on June 2. 

Lorries and trucks going from Ongole to Vijayawada would be diverted via Budempadu, Tenali, Penumudi Varadhi, Machilipatnam and Vijayawada. Similarly, vehicles going from Mangalagiri, Guntur will be diverted from IJM Apartments backside to Vijayawada. 

He urged the vehicle drivers to notice the traffic diversions and cooperate with the police.
