Football League Tourney Commences

Rajamahendravaram: Football league tournament to the boys of under 17 years was commenced on the premises of SKVT Degree College here on Monday. About 150 football players of 11 teams participated in the tourney.

Participating in the programme, MLA and East Godavari Football Association president Dr Akula Satyanarayana underlined the need to spare some time for sports which help them to maintain good physique as well as sound health. Moreover, sports also helps in getting jobs under sports quota.

Sports increases competitive spirit among the students and also enhances creativity. The government was encouraging sports in many ways and asked the players to avail the opportunity to prove their mettle.

Andhra Pradesh Sports Authority director Yerra Venugopala Raidu assured to bring past glory to the city in sports and games. 

Football Association secretary Sunkara Nagendra Kishore, district Olympic association secretary K Padmanabham, natioal football player K Srinivas, the college principal KP Naidu, football coach Mariya Joji and many others were present.
