‘BJP levelling baseless charges against TDP govt’
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party alleged that the BJP government at the Centre has been neglecting the Kadapa steel plant though the state government had shown suitable location for construction of the plant in Kadapa district. The TDP released an open letter to the people of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday saying that the agitation for Kadapa steel plant will become huge success like Vizag steel plant agitation in future.
Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh said there was overwhelming response from the public in Rayalaseema districts for his Deeksha. He released a letter as the Deeksha launched by him for steel plant enters fourth day on Saturday. He thanked the Backward classes, minorities, youth, SC/STs, farmers and other sections of the society for expressing solidarity and support for the Deeksha.
CM Ramesh said the government had shown suitable land for construction of the plant which is located at only 20 km from the railway track ,10 km from Gandikota reservoir and 7 km from power lines. The TDP government had furnished the information relating to the Kadapa plant to the Central government on June 15, only three days after the Union government had asked for it on June 12, 2017. He said the BJP is leveling false allegations on the TDP on the clarification given by the TDP.
He made it clear that the TDP would not compromise on Kadapa steel plant and would get it at any cost for the development of the state. The Kadapa steel plant is linked to the self-respect of Telugu people. He questioned was it is not true that the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been asking the Central government for the steel plant and the BJP government has been neglecting it.
He further said only TDP government is strongly asking for the plant in Rajay Sabha and Lok Sabha, while the YSRCP and BJP state leaders are not demanding for it. He questioned why the BJP government has not sanctioned Steel plant and High Court bench for Rayalaseema when they released Rayalaseema declaration.
