Chittoor: The computer operators working under the Panchayat Raj department have staged a dharna under the banner of the CITU at the Collectorate here on Monday. Addressing the protestors, CITU district president P Chaitanya said computers operators have no job security.

He recalled that computer operators with high qualifications were offered regular appointment with a consolidated salary by the state government. The CITU leader lambasted the government for taking decision to terminate the computer operators without issuing show cause notice.

Chaitanya has stated that the High Court had given directions to government not to take any action on computer operators. Ignoring the HC verdict, the government took a decision to terminate the computer operators with immediate effect, he slammed. He demanded that the state government should obey the orders of the HC and allow the computer operators to continue in their jobs.

The CITU district president made it clear that they would resort to indefinite strike if government fails to concede to their demands. PR District Computer Operators’ Union president P Damodar and others spoke. Later, the leaders submitted a memorandum to Joint Collector-2 V R Chandramouli seeking justice.
