Isolated heavy rain forecast for north coastal AP

Hyderabad: Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari of north coastal Andhra Pradesh on June 27, the Met department bulletin has warned. 

It said on Tuesday that heavy rain occurred at isolated places in  the five coastal districts during the day, despite the Southwest Monsoon being weak across Andhra Pradesh.

Rain occurred at isolated places in the State. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were: Tada (Nellore district) 3, Sullurpet (Nellore), Kalakada (Chittoor) 2 each,  Paderu (Vishakhapatnam), Thottambedu (Chittoor), Tirupati Airport and Kodur (Kadapa) 1 each. 

The highest day temperature of 40 degrees Celsius each was recorded in Kavali, Machilipatnam and Jangamaheswarapuram. The other temperatures in the State were:

Bapatla, Kakinada, Nellore, Ongole, Vijayawada, Nandyal & Tirupati 39 each, Nandigama, Tuni & Visakhapatnam Airport 38 each, Narsapur, Kadapa & Kurnool 37 each, Visakhapatnam & Anantapur 36 each, Kalingapatnam 33 and  Arogyavaram 32.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few/many places in Andhra Pradesh from June 27 to 30. No large change during the period July 1-3 is the weather outlook.
