Vijayawada: CPI activists staged a dharna at the Pipula road junction here on Thursday, demanding that the government restore the property registrations in Ajit Singh Nagar, Vambay colony and other areas.

The functionaries staged a dharna in view of the halting of registrations by the state government for the last one year.

The CPI city Secretary, Donepudi Sankar addressing the party workers, alleged the government had stopped registrations in Ajit Singh Nagar, Vambay colony and other areas due to the land-grabbing activities of TDP leaders, particularly MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao.

YSRCP city working president and former MLA Malladi Vishnu, CPM city leader D Vishnuvardhan and Jana Sena leaders visited the dharna site and expressed solidarity to the CPI workers.

Donepudi Sankar threatened the government to launch an agitation, if the government failed to restore the property registrations in the area.
