AP State to supply 2 kg dal, oil from fair price shops soon
Srikakulam: Civil supplies minister Prathipati Pulla Rao said the government is aimed to satisfy the white ration cardholders by supplying sufficient ration. Inspecting a fair price shop at Thotavada village in Burja mandal on Monday, the minister said the government was spending Rs 3,000 crore on ration goods every year.
From July this year, we will distribute two kgs of red gram dal to card holders, oil and other goods will be supplied soon, the minister said. The government is planning to supply ration goods to cardholders at their houses, he said adding 40 per cent of cardholders have been satisfied with ration distribution system and the government is aimed to satisfy 95 per cent people, the minister explained.
On the occasion, the minister received suggestions from the cardholders. He warned the dealers to maintain timings and accurate weight of goods, otherwise stern action will be initiated.
“We will rectify mistakes in ration supply soon by collecting details from the cardholders,” the minister assured. At present 87 per cent card holders are receiving ration goods regularly from the FP shops, he said. Joint collector KVN Chakradhara Babu, officials and local leaders accompanied the minister.
