Amaravati: Taking a strong exception to the comments of BJP spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao over the funds given to Andhra Pradesh by the Centre, AP Planning Board vice-chairman said the BJP was distorting the truth and spreading canards to mislead people.

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Wednesday, Kutumba Rao said the Central government had given only Rs 5 crore to Andhra Pradesh but Narasimha Rao said that the state was given Rs 1,800 crore. “In fact, the state government has spent Rs 3,750 crore under the Sagaramala project. The Centre has given Rs 6,000 crore to Maharashtra and Gujarat for the same project,” he said.

He also said the Centre has given only Rs 82 crore under EAP projects but claiming that Rs 12,000 crore were given to AP. Kutumba Rao also refuted BJP leader’s claim of Centre allotting 104 projects of total 592 project to the Andhra Pradesh. “There is no truth in the claims of Narasimha Rao on allotting projects to the AP. In fact, the Central government is not giving any clarity on Coastal Economic Zone project.

The BJP leaders are spreading canards by showing our letters written to the Center in the past on various projects. The BJP has remained Bharateeya Gimmicks Party by spreading lies. Why the BJP was not revealing its letters to the state on several issues, ” he asked.

He said the BJP top leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, did not speak about the funds given to the state and some other key issues as they were aware of the facts. He alleged that the Central government was sending brokers to convince state government for setting up HPCL company in AP. He also said that he would reveal a scam relating to FDI worth 12 billion dollars.

“The BJP was claiming that the Centre brings investments to the country under FDI. In fact, not a single rupee was invested in the country. The investments were moved to some other countries where tax exemption is available.

This is the big scam which needs to be discussed in Parliament,” he said. Kutumba Rao said he had sent notices to BJP leader Kanna Lakshmi Narayana and Somu Veerraju for making objectionable comments against him. He also took exception to the comments of Pawan Kalyan  and said the film actor was making fool of himself  by hurling slur against others.
