Guntur: Andhra Pradesh Planning Board vice-chairman C Kutumba Rao slammed the BJP-led government at the Centre for showing step-mother attitude towards Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing intellectuals meeting held at Tenali Ramakrishna Auditorium in Tenali on Sunday, Kutumba Rao alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking revenge on AP for demanding fulfilment of promises made in AP Reorganization Act.

Reminding the Modi’s unilateral decision on implementation of demonetisation, he said it totally failed to yield desired results and added because of it, still people were facing a lot of problems.

Pointing out that the demonetisation failed to unearth black money in the country, he felt after implementation of the GST, the Central government was collecting three taxes imposing additional burden on the people.

He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was committed to protect the interests of the state whether the BJP would cooperate or not in the development of the state. He said there was no meaning to the Opposition criticism on the Chief Minister over the development of state capital.

“We cannot develop the state capital within a short span of time,” he said. He further said that because of step mother attitude of Modi, the BJP became weak in the state.

MLC Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad warned the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that voters in the state would teach a fitting lesson to the BJP in the coming elections for denying the Special Category Status to the state promised in the AP Reorganization Act. MLA Alapati Rajendra Prasad and AP Minority Finance Corporation chairman Md Hidayat were present.
