2 free kalyana mandapams to come up in city
Eluru: MLA Badeti Bujji announced that two free kalyana mandapams will be coming in the city to help the poor perform functions without paying rent.
He distributed CM’s Relief Fund worth Rs 30 lakh to 26 beneficiaries here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA informed that except electricity and maintenance charges, the kalayana mandapams would be given to the poor for free to perform marriages and other functions.
Unable to pay high rents for private kalyana mandapams and for want of proper place, the poor had been performing their functions on the roads of the city. Soon, their difficulties would be over as they can avail the government kalyana mandapams at no extra charges.
The MLA said that they would select suitable land for constructing the kalyana mandapams. The stone laying ceremonies for the mandapams would be held shortly, he added.
Stating that the government was committed to health for all, the MLA informed that they introduced NTR Vaidya Seva to extend corporate medical care to the poor who cannot afford medical charges.
With regard to the ailment not covered under the scheme, the government was extending help under CM Relief Fund. The government released Rs 6 crore to the poor for their medical treatment during the past four years from the fund in Eluru city, he revealed.
