Avail of govt schemes, Governor tells tribals

Srikakulam: Tribals should utilise the facilities being provided by the government for their all-round development, said Governor ESL Narasimhan. He toured Sitampeta agency on Tuesday and interacted with farmers, students and youth at Sitampeta.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor assured to solve problems being faced by tribals. He lauded tourism works in the agency and directed the officials to create jobs for tribals locally to contain the migrations. He instructed the officials to train tribal youth in sports and games and they will achieve good results.

Later, the Governor interacted with self-help group (SHG) women at Pedarama village in Sitampeta agency. On the occasion, he called upon the women to send their children to schools and utilise bank linkage, loan waiver facilities provided by the government. 

He enquired about basic amenities in tribal villages during interaction. The Governor also spoke at Haddubangi Tribal Welfare Residential School and guided the students to concentrate on studies to reach higher positions. He went around photo exhibition and digital classrooms. He also paid a visit to the Sitampeta Government Hospital and enquired about medical treatment and facilities being provided to the patients. 

Palakonda MLA V Kalavathi, Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy, ITDA project officer, L Shiva Sankar, Superintendent of Police, Dr CM Trivikrama Varma and the district officials accompanied the Governor.
