Eluru: MLA Badeti Bujji announced cash prize for students who excel in their studies.
Advance birthday of the MLA under the auspices of Amma Nanna Charitable Trust was celebrated at Sri Krishna Devaraya Municipal High School here on Wednesday.
The MLA distributed cash prizes worth Rs 40,000, sponsored by the trust, to the students who scored good marks.
Speaking on the occasion, Bujji said that the state government was allocating Rs 24,000 crore for education every year. It was the responsibility of the students to work hard to make government spending worthy.
Without talent it would be difficult to reach higher position in life in this competitive world. It was not the poverty and caste that decides destiny but reaching higher places in society.
Those who attain higher positions would never mention their caste or financial status in their success story in life, he explained.
The MLA patted corporator M Hanumantha Rao for using his trust to benefit talented students. Many rich persons had been extending their helping hand to provide basic infrastructure facilities in schools under social responsibility.
He called upon the students to take a cue from such people and give back to society when they reach higher positions.
Bujji informed the students that the state government would extend financial support of up to Rs 10 lakh to those students who wish to pursue higher and foreign education.
