Haj pilgrims need to be vaccinated: MLC
Guntur: MLC and Chief Whip MA Sharif formally inaugurated the vaccination camp here on Thursday. Addressing the pilgrims, he said that the Central government has been vaccinating all the Haj pilgrims for oral polio, meningitis and influenza as per the guidelines issued by the Saudi government.
The state government has been taking precautions to prevent Haj pilgrims falling sick during the pilgrimage. As part of it, the government has been organising health camps in all districts to vaccinate the pilgrims.
Vaccination camps have already been organised in Vijayawada, Ongole, Kurnool, Atmakuru, Nandyala, Visakhapatnam and the same was organised in Guntur and Rajamahendravaram on Thursday.
The MLC suggested to the Haj pilgrims to carry two suit cases each with 22 kg luggage and 10 kg hand luggage is also allowed. He asked the Haj pilgrims to reach the Haj House in Hyderabad one day before the departure and get the details of visa on the passport.
Haj Committee Chairman Momin Ahmad Hussain, Minority Finance Corporation Chairman Hidayat, Guntur Zilla Parishad Chairperson Janimun, AP Haj Committee member Haji Hasan Basha, ZPTC member Sharif and others were present.
