Admit wards in govt schools, parents told
Chittoor: ZP Chairperson Girvani has exhorted parents to admit their children in government schools instead of sending them to corporate educational institutions.
Addressing a meeting at Thellagundlapalle village in Thavanampalle mandal on Monday, the ZP chief stated it is the responsibility of parents to encourage government schools.
The education system being implemented in government schools is suitable for present generation students, she said, adding that students passing out from the government schools are more matured when compared to students of private schools. She expressed anguish that parents are preferring private schools over government schools.
Girvani mentioned that government schools are suitable for middle and poorer sections of the society. The ZP chief said the state government is spending funds for improvement of infrastructure and amenities in government schools, and providing free textbooks, uniforms to the students.
Girvani made an appeal to the elected representatives and prominent personalities of the respective villages in the mandals to take initiative of asking parents to admit their children in government schools only. Puthalapattu Assembly constituency TDP in-charge and former MLA Lalitha Thomas enlisted the achievements of TDP government in the last four years.
