Rajakumari assures govt aid to kin of deceased girls
Rajamahendravaram: Andhra Pradesh State Women Commission chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari said that the state commission, in association with National Women Commission, has been conducting awareness programmes for women on their rights.
Speaking to reporters at a private hotel here on Tuesday, she said so far, the commission conducted awareness programmes in Guntur and Krishna districts and the remaining districts will also be covered shortly.
It is the time for women to know their rights and legislations meant for their welfare. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is very much particular to punish accused involved in the cases of atrocities on women and girls. Steps will be taken to punish the accused after trials through fast track courts in the state, she said.
She advised the police officials to know about the legislations made for the welfare of women. The government will extend necessary assistance to the family members of the deceased in recent boat capsize in river Godavari at Pasuvulalanka village. The district administration is putting all efforts to trace the bodies for the last four days in the river, Rajakumari adds.
