Silk clothes from Srirangam gifted to Lord Venkateswara

Tirupati: In a traditional practice, a team of religious persons from Srirangam temple have presented silk clothes to Lord Venkateswara on the auspicious day of Anivara Asthanam on Tuesday. Earlier, TTD chairman P Sudhakar Yadav along with In-charge Tirumala JEO P Bhaskar went to Pedda Jeeyangar Mutt and received Srirangam religious team and Pedda Jeeyar Swamy and Chinna Jeeyar Swamy.

In a procession along four mada streets, the vastrams were taken inside the temple. Speaking on the occasion, the JEO said, the Tirumala deity receives the presentation from Srirangam temple on this day while the Vastram presentation to Sri Ranganatha Swamy from Tirumala reaches on Kaisika Ekadasi day. Endowments Minister of Tamil Nadu S Ramachandran, Srirangam Trust Board Chairman Venu Srinivasan, Endowment Commissioner Jaya, Joint Commissioner/EO of Srirangam temple Jayaraman and others were present.
