Prakasam Engineering College students gesture to ailing girl
Kandukur: The students of the Prakasam Engineering College helped a girl suffering from Thalassemia, through the Prakasam Engineering College Foundation, to meet her treatment expenses. This was announced by the college treasurer Kancharla Srikanth.
He said that Palepogu Esther Rani is the daughter of David and resident of Jammulapalem village in Tangutur mandal. The girl has been suffering from thalassemia since she has been a baby and the doctors agreed now to perform a surgery to cure her.
As she is from a poor family, the girl is seeking help from the Chief Minister Relief Fund and other voluntary organisations like PEC foundation.
Moved by the plight of the girl, the foundation run by the PEC students had donated Rs 30,000 to the girl and handed over the bank cheque in the administrative office on Thursday.
He said that the students donated nearly Rs 20 lakh to different persons struggling with different issues.
The college vice-principal, V Haribabu, academic in-charge SN Meeravali, foundation volunteers V Alluraiah, P Karthik, Anudeepa, Praveena Jones, Sukanya and others also participated in the programme.
