Kalyana Mandapam to be ready soon in Eluru
Eluru: MLA Badeti Bujji has said the Kalyana Mandapam under construction at a cost of Rs 60 lakh will be inaugurated shortly.
It would benefit the poor to conduct marriages and other functions as they cannot afford high rents of private Kalyana Mandapams, he said.
He participated as chief guest at Nagara Darsini programme organised in seventh division of the corporation here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that the construction of new Kalyana Mandapam at Toorpuveedhi would be completed shortly.
It would be a great relief to the people in the locality in particular and in city in general as they had been conducting marriage and other functions on roadside. The existing private marriage halls were affordable to rich people only, he added.
Mayor Noorjahan said that the government had allotted Rs 150 crore for development works during the past four years. Under smart city initiative, the government had released Rs 860 crore and works would begin shortly, she informed.
Division corporator P Deepthi, Handicrafts Development Corporation chairman P Prasad, Agiculture Market Committee chairman P Niranjan and others were present.
