Plea to construct Jashua memorial

Guntur: Former MLC KS Lakshmana Rao said that there is need to construct Gurram Jashua memorial ‘Smurti Vanam’ in Guntur. 

He garlanded the portrait of Gurram Jashua at Gurram Jashua Vignan Kendram in Guntur, on the occasion of the  47th death anniversary of Jashua ,on  Tuesday.

Speaking on this occasion, he said the latter in his literature shows the solutions to the social problems and urged government to set up his memorial to honour him. 

Kala Sauda president B Vedaiah said that the district people were fortunate as Gurram Jashua was born in Guntur district. 

He reminded that the latter fought against untouchability. Gurram Jashua Vignan Kendram managing trustee Pasam Rama Rao expressed serious concern over continuing untouchability in the country.
