YSRCP bandh a total failure: Ministers
Amaravati: The TDP leaders and ministers said the YSRCP’s State-wide bandh was a total failure on Tuesday as there was no public participation. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that instead of fighting against the Central government in New Delhi for protection of the State’s rights, YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy was creating problems in the State in the name of protests and bandhs.
He further added that due to the bandh call given by the YSRCP, only small merchants, school and college students suffered but there was no impact on the Central government.
Ramakrishnudu said that the YSRCP had been causing obstacles to the State development for the last four years and creating hurdles in all the developmental activities. Now the Opposition party again tried to hit the State’s economy through the bandh, he said.
By trying to halt the progress of the State, the YSRCP was indirectly extending support to the BJP at the Centre, he said. On the other hand, Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao also said that the YSRCP’s bandh was a complete failure.
Srinivasa Rao said that people lost confidence on Jaganmohan Reddy and his partymen. He said that people were watching the developments in Parliament’s Monsoon Session from the day one onwards and the TDP moved the No-Confidence Motion.
He added that on Tuesday also the public watched the proceedings in Rajya Sabha during the short duration discussion moved by the TDP MPs on implementation of AP Reorganisation Act. He said that the State suffered a loss of Rs 70 crore due to the bandh call given by the YSRCP.
He demanded that if Jaganmohan Reddy had courage, he should question Prime Minister Narendra Modi like what the TDP was doing now in the State and in Parliament. He further added that the public will again reject the YSRCP in the 2019 general elections.
