MLA P Manikyala Rao administers pledge against plastic use
Tadepalligudem: Former minister and MLA Manikyala Rao administered pledge against plastic use at Swachh Bharat programme held here on Sunday.
Walkers, doctors, students and BJP leaders took the pledge to avoid using plastic carry bags and other plastic to save environment.
Speaking at the airport here, the MLA said that cleanliness and protection of environment should be the responsibility of one and all. By using plastics, we were causing irreparable damage to environment.
He called upon the gathering to extensively participate in tree plantation for good health. He thanked the members of the walkers club for developing Harita Vanam by planting saplings.
Manikyala Rao urged people to extend their support for agitation being taken up for government medical college in the town. It was IMA which passed a resolution for the college.
The people should participate in fast camps to draw attention of the government in this regard.
Senior doctors Subba Raju, Satya Prasad, Padmaja and others were present.
