AP JAC Amaravati leaders greet DGP RP Thakur
Vijayawada: Leaders of AP JAC Amaravati on Tuesday met DGP RP Thakur at the state police office near Mangalagiri and congratulated him on assuming the charge as the new DGP of the state.
The AP JAC comprises the employees, teachers, workers and retired employees association.
The leaders presented a bouquet to the DGP and submitted a representation requesting the latter to increase the wages of constables on par with the teachers.
The leaders said in 1974 the constables and SGTs had same basic and later the basic of SGTs increased to Rs 21,230 but the police remained same at Rs 16,400.
The leaders said the basic of constables should be enhanced in the PRC.
They further said many constables even after 20 years of service were not getting promotions and requested the DGP to increase the allowance to the traffic police for working in the polluted environment on the roads.
