Donors invited to adopt civic schools

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana asked the donors to adopt municipal schools for improving infrastructure and quality of education through various activities. He visited schools in the city on Wednesday at Venkateswarapuram, Kissan Nagar, Jakir Hussain Nagar, Vaikunthapuram and Gandhi Girijana Colony.

He said the state government has been giving top priority for education and aiming to develop municipal schools as model schools across the state. Introduction of English as medium of instruction in government schools has been getting good response while giving importance to Telugu subject, the Minister said, adding that there has been significant improvement in schools with 25-32 per cent more admissions this year. 

He asked the donors, who are interested to adopt schools, to interact with teachers and children on the progress. He also appealed to the Journalists Associations to adopt some schools for providing basic knowledge to students. Mayor Abdul Aziz, NUDA Chairman K S Reddy, Municipal Commissioner A Basha, Corporators Madhu, Mallikarjun Yadav and others were present.
