Walkers Club to celebrate donors day in Rajamahendravaram
Rajamahendravaram: Walkers, Yoga and Laughing Club (a non-governmental organisation) has decided to celebrate Donors Day every year to felicitate and encourage the donors.
Participating in the club's fourth annual general body meeting held in SKVT College here on Sunday, the club founder, Pamarthi Gopala Rao said the date for Donors Day will be announced shortly.
The club was participating in many social service activities and extending necessary help to the needy, he added.
The club was paying a monthly pension of Rs 350 to 110 aged and disabled persons who were not getting oldage and handicapped pensions from the government.
An amount of Rs 4 lakh was given to 80 merit students to encourage them and many medical camps were also conducted.
The club president, Surampudi Tatarao said the club had been serving the needy with full satisfaction for four years.
The club has received Best Club award thrice from Walkers International Club continuously and also every year getting cash and other awards also from International Club.
Treasurer M Seshu said the club's capital amount increased to Rs 10.5 lakh and the present executive body's tenure expires in December this year.
New body was elected and its installation programme will be held in January.
The new office-bearers of the club are--president Chelluboyina Suryanarayana Murthi, secretary Allu Manmadha Rao, treasurer Seelam Rama Krishna, vice-president Majji Appa Rao, joint secretary Ch Sattibabu and programme coordinator G Babji.
