Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister K E Krishna Murthy instructed the officials to upload the latest details of lands falling under the list of 22-A by August 15 and solve the problems immediately.
Action would be taken against the officials if they are found negligent in solving the grievances, he said and added that already the District Collectors were directed in this regard.
Krishna Murthy conducted a review meeting with the higher officials of the Revenue department including the Joint Collectors of 13 districts at the irrigation office here on Friday.
The government has already issued directions to the officials for solving problems in dotted lands and 22-A banned lands. He said that the government introduced an enactment to give rights legally to possession holders who had been enjoying the lands since the British rule.
The government extended the deadline for receiving applications on registrations and title deed issues. The officials were asked to create awareness among people on the government procedures.
He said that already the Joint Collectors were asked the reasons for the rejections on dotted lands. He said that more number of petitions were rejected in Guntur, Nellore and Chittoor districts.
The government would act liberally to solve the grievances while settling the land problems. But the officials have not been able to work according to the plans of the government, he lamented.
He directed the officials to remove lands of freedom fighters and political sufferers from 22-A list immediately. The updated list of 22-A lands details should be submitted in a soft copy. The government would conduct district-wise meetings from August 15 to solve the grievances.
The RDOs and MROs would attend the meetings, he said and added that he would know the reasons for rejection of appeals. He was surprised to learn that about 17,000 cases were pending in tahasildar court in West Godavari district. The government would conduct video-conference with the Chief Commissioner of Land Appeals every Tuesday.
The Minister ordered an inquiry against NGO leader Krupavaram based on the complaint given by a woman employee at a temple. She said that the NGO leader was harassing her for sexual favours. The Minister said that action would be taken against the NGO leader if found guilty.
