Central library to come up in Amaravati soon

Guntur: Minister for Civil Supplies Prattipati Pulla Rao said the government will set up Central library in the capital Amaravati soon. Addressing a meeting at Sri Venkateswara Vignan Mandiram here on Friday on the occasion of Dasari Raja Master taking oath as Rashtra Grandhalaya Parishad Chairman, the minister stressed the need to promote reading habit and appealed the youth to study books to update their knowledge.

He reminded that separate sections were set up for students appearing for the competitive examinations and exuded confidence that Dasari Raja Master would develop the libraries in the state.

Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Anand Babu said the government taken steps to set up a Central Library in Amaravati in the days to come and added Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was interested in developing the libraries by providing modern facilities and necessary infrastructure. 

State Libraries director P Parvati said the government taken steps to set up the Central library in Amaravati soon. She said the government would develop the libraries to promote reading habit and reminded that how libraries played a key in the freedom movement. 

Later, Dasari Raja Master said that he would strive for developing libraries and thanked the Chief Minister for appointing him as the Chairman of Rashtra Grandhalaya Parishad. MLA G V Anjaneyulu, MLC A S Ramakrishna, former minister Dr Sanakkayala Aruna, TDP Guntur east in-charge Maddali Giri were present.
