Tributes paid to Karunanidhi

Kakinada:  East Godavari Nayee Brahmin Welfare Association expressed condolences over the demise of senior DMK leader and former Tamil Nadu chief minister M  Karunanidhi. 

At the meeting organised at R& B guest house here on Thursday evening, rich tributes were paid to the departed leader.

Speaking on the occasion, Bahujan United Front AP unit president Chollangi Venugopal said that  Karunanidhi had the rare distinction of getting elected to Assembly 13 times and served as chief minister 5 terms in Tamil Nadu.

Nayee Brahmin Welfare Association president Sundaraaplli Gopalakrishna while paying tributes said that Karunanidhi strived for the welfare of poor and downtrodden throughout his life. 

He said that Karunanidhi who hailed from Nayee Brahmin social section reached greater heights in life and became first Chief Minister from film industry in the country.

Leaders of the organisation attended in large numbers and paid their respects to Karunanidhi.
