Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should immediately intervene and take up the Mannavaram project issue with the Central government to stop Prime Minister Narendra Modi shifting to Gujarat, said Srikalahasti former MLA T Chenchu Reddy.
Speaking at a round-table conference organised by Andhra Pradesh Abhivriddhi Porata Samithi (AAPS) here on Saturday on the NTPC-BHEL Power Projects Limited (NBPPL) at Mannavaram, Chenchu Reddy said that if Naidu continues his silence it would cause a great loss to Chittoor district.
The multi-crore project is essential for generating large scale employment for the benefit of unemployed in Chittoor district and to give impetus to its development, he said, adding that the Chief Minister striving to induce investors at global level should also turn his attention in retaining a big project like NBPPL.
