LG Chem, Hindware to set up units in State

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh has been attracting more number of industries with the prevailing industry-friendly eco system. The LG Chem of South Korea came forward to set up a unit in the state as part of its major expansion plan.

LG Chem India Head and Managing Director Howard Chung, Young Mojung, Director of LG Polymers, and Kim Dong Soo, Manager, strategy plan, met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Praja Vedika on Wednesday and discussed on their expansion plans and showed interest to set up unit in the State.

The Hindware (Hindustan Sanitaryware and industries Limited), which has 38 per cent market share in sanitaryware in India came forward to set up ceramic units in Chittoor and Godavari districts. Hindware brand has been recognised as a super brand for the last four years.

Hindware Vice-Chairman and Managing Director and senior vice-president of FICCI Sandip Somany met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and discussed on their plans to set up units.

The Hindware wants to set up a medium density fibreboard and ceramics industry in Srikalahasti of Chittoor district. It may be noted that the ceramic industry in AP is experiencing a major push from the State government and it has established a 1,600-acre dedicated ceramic cluster in Srikalahasti.

There is a huge demand for construction and building materials in Andhra Pradesh. Principal Secretary to CM Sai Prasad, Additional Secretary to CM Rajamouli, EDB CEO J Krishna Kishore and others were present.
